The project at Pok Oi Hospital redevelopment involves ELS design for a 3 levels basement excavation that requires over 10m of excavation into soft clay. We have been employed by the foundation contractor to provide an alternative design to the ELS system to provide a more time and cost effective solution. We have redesign the ELS system which comprises the reduce in struts, change the pipe-pile wall to sheet pile wall, reduce the grout curtain length and redesign the pumping test. Significant savings have been achieved and the project is already completed.
