● Contract No.: HK/2009/01 Wan Chai Development Phase II Central – Wan Chai Bypass at HKCEC

Chun Wo – Leader Joint Venture has been awarded the Contract of construction works for Wan Chai Development Phase II – Central – Wan Chai Bypass at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre under the Contract No. HK/2009/01. The works mainly include land formation and construction of the Central-Wan Chai Bypass tunnel at the water channel in between the two phases of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and other associated works.

W T Chan & Associates Ltd. was invited to design the temporary works including the ELS works, lifting system and structural design for the proposed Box Culvert M2a, M2a & FRP-M near the existing Expo Drive East to divert the drainage flow from the existing Box Culvert to Victoria Harbour. The challenge of the proposed temporary works is required to consider the tidal effect of the Victoria Harbour and buoyancy force to support the proposed box culvert. We communicated close with the Contractor to provide an effective and best solution for the construction works.
