A redevelopment is proposed at TWGHs David Trench Home for Elderly, 29 Nam Long Shan Road, Aberdeen, Lot A.I.L. 330. The construction works includes piling foundation works, footing works, pile cap, site formation works, soil nailing and excavation & lateral support (ELS).

W T Chan & Associates Ltd. is appointed by the Contractor to conduct the rock joint mapping during the site formation works. As the rock head within the site is relatively shallow, recording the rock face survey and proposed associated stabilization measures on newly cut rock slopes should be considered. The rock slope was cut at specifies angle at stage of excavation. The height of excavation did not exceed 2m in each stage. The rock joint mapping of 45degrees rock cut slope and the rock surface of footings has been carefully carried out in the Engineer’s Inspection to access the stability.
